Post your "youthful indiscretions" here! |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-04-05 01:26 PM by fit4life
When I was a young teenager, my buddies and I went on an "egging" rampage. We egged houses and cars all over the neighborhood. It occurred to me one night that the only house in our neighborhood that hadn't been hit was mine, and people were going to make that connection eventually. So naturally we had to egg our own house. We hid about 30 or 40 yards from my house and started launching eggs. As the first few hit, my father (I never figured him as the type to come after us!) came flying out of the house and we had to haul ass out of there. We got down into some woods and hid and he never found us.
I'm 36 now, this was well over 20 years ago and I still haven't worked up the nerve to tell my father it was me. I got up the next day and helped him clean it off and promised to keep my ears open at school for any sign of who it was. I was never more scared in my life!
So share your teenage escapades!
***EDIT***
Remember, according to republicans like Henry Hyde & George Bush, anything you did prior to age 50 was a "youthful indiscretion"! ;)

Two friends and I streaked down our street at 2 am once. We were about 13 or 14 at the time.
No, we didn't get caught.

and they've really put a damper on my career in journalism, but why should my past prevent me from having a future (sob, sob)
(not really of course, the kittenhead is pure as the driven snow)

that was friendly and playful-it was the Summer of Love too with lots of great acid around! We had our "groupies" like it or not, they were part of the scene.

4. Lots of skinny dippy and late-night ocean swims |

Kind of like on the cover of "Jaws". Never a good idea, inebriated or sober.
Once it was before a hurricane, and the waves were running parallel to shore. Decided it was okay, since the guy I was with was a lifeguard.
In fact about 99% of my youthful indiscretions came from hanging out with lifeguards, now that I think about it....

10. Once while in an extremely augmented state of mind in college . . . |
|
Two friends and I were watching the freight trains that rolled through campus and calculating how long it took for the back wheels of the rather long tank cars to get to a given point after the front wheels had passed (we were into calculating while tripping, god knows why).
We observed with what we considered a high degree of precision (counting "one-one hundred, two-one hundred," etc.) that it took a full three seconds between two sets of wheels and that it would take less than one second to roll across the tracks underneath the train, and that the tanks were plenty high off the bed for a rolling body to pass.
To this day I don't remember who went first (I suspect it wasn't me), but we did indeed roll under the moving train, each under his own car.
After which we sat beside the tracks, consumed with hysteria (fear and laughter) realizing we had done the stupidest thing we were ever likely to do, and that we would probably still be telling the story 30 years later.
