DU women (and men) is "cutie" or cute a better compliment... |
|
since I would probably never use "Hottie" upon meeting a woman for the first time anyways, but how do you all stand on cutie...or is it too cute?

1. I don't like either "hottie" or "cute" |
|
"Beautiful" is nice. "You look great" or "You look wonderful" are both good. I would probably slug someone if they called me something like "cute" or a "hottie" upon first meeting them (though I sincerely doubt anyone would!).

5. I don't think I'm supposed to take any compliments from strange men |
|
as compliments.
As for me, either one seems to convey that you think I look nice, which I would assume would be a complimentary thing to say.
I'm all mixed up!

9. In your case hottie or cutey doesn't fit |
|
It's more like "My God woman, I saw you and my pants melted right off."

25. It's really too bad that that is what you got out of the thread |
|
with women saying how they would feel if a total stranger said "you're a hottie" to them. Predictable, but too bad.

12. I dunno... honestly age is a factor, I think. |
|
At almost 33, "cutie" and "hottie" seem insincere, as I would say a much younger woman would better qualify for that. I'd like to think I have matured into a beautiful woman, not a "cutie" nor a "hottie" in an unfamiliar context.

13. How about just talking to someone |
|
about a topic and leaving the comments on their looks for later (when you know them better)?
I'm not single, but if I were, I'd want to just TALK to the person I was interested in. I wouldn't blurt out that he was a hottie or a cutie and I wouldn't want him to do that, either.
I'd just want to stick to......laughing, talking. Doing stuff. Good flirting is FAR more subtle than "you're a hottie" or "you're a cutie" or even "you have gorgeous eyes."

depending on who said it.
LOL
Funny is great. Inappropriate, overly silly, slightly desperate or immature are not. And of course, all those things are a matter of opinion.

first step towards romance unless the woman is married, then it's the first step towards an ass-whupping which I've experienced :)
