Do you get these calls?"Your # is on my caller ID,I'm returning your call |
|
I've gotten three in the last month who would not stop asking why I called them. if I did it was a wrong number probably but the conversations go something like- "Is this Mahina Hoku?" Yes "You called me" OK... "Why did you call me?" I don't know, who is this? "Your called me" Who are you? "But you called! It's on my caller ID!" I don't know who you are! "But I'm returning your call!" Was there a message? "You called me!" Who are you? "You called me!" This is a ridiculous conversation, goodbye!
It's as if they think I found the secret of life and called to tell them but then decided to keep it a secret. Idiots!
Anyone else get this stuff?

My favorite are people who call and when I answer their first question is "Who is this?"
My standard answer is "This is the person you called. Who the hell is THIS?"
Always a great conversation starter.

3. What drives me nuts... |
|
In my job, I deal with a lot of retired judges, senators, and other retired "important" people. It drives me up the wall when some guy who retired from being a judge 15 years ago announces himself as "Judge So-and-So". No, you AREN'T Judge So-and-So, you're random old guy who used to be a judge, senator, etc. When they announce themselves like that, the word "sir" or "ma'am" is automatically and conspicuously absent from my end of the conversation. And they have to be nice to me, because I control their retirement money. lol
