I JUST HAD SOME DIET CHERRY COKE AND THEN I HAD A HUGE COFFEE. I THOUGHT IT WAS DECAF BUT IT WASN'T.

So then I answered some questions on an assignment and I tried to read something but couldn't, then I wandered aimlessly around my house, then I watched some "Father Ted" and got under a blanket, but then I got restless and so here I am. My daughter is sick so earlier I was taking care of her but she's asleep now and so is my husband but my dog isn't. And my cat isn't. And I'm not. And you're not if you're reading this.

I'm not going to be on here until 4 am tonight, that is just crazy. I am going to get off at a normal time and go to bed and watch Britcoms and maybe knit some more rows on this scarf I'm knitting. It's getting really long.

I had chili for dinner, with grated cheese and onions and I ate it with crackers, only I got full really fast and couldn't eat most of it, so there goes that. I just got done reading the Rolling Stone magazine that has Green Day on the cover and it was really interesting, I only bought it because I know they hate bush, but normally I don't buy Rolling Stone. No reason, I've got nothing against the magazine, except that they had Briney Spears and Jessica Simpson on their covers at different times and I really don't care about either of them. Oh and this issue had a really great article on Sinclair Broadcasting WHO ARE A BUNCH OF FECKING BASTARDS FROM THE DEEPEST PITS OF SLIMY HELL.

41. i finally knitted a scarf...

which is not to be frowned at since i'm a guy. most guys don't knit.

but hey, i'm a GAY guy, so i'm a little more flexible about my self image than most "guys".

anyway, i always wanted a LONG scarf. and they don't make them long enough. by the time you wrap it around your neck once the ends are about nipple level, which is fine if your nude and the scarf is replacing your pasties, but other than that, too damn short. :-)

one day a couple of xmases (what is the plural of xmas?) ago, my sweetie and i were at rockefeller center mingling with the xmas masses. as we were leaving we passed a COACH store right there at rockefeller center. in the window was a female mannequin with a long scarf with both ends touching the floor. and it was ONLY $138.

so i got it. then i thought, hell, i could knit my own for that kind of money. (and i feel SO gay when wearing my super long scarf!)

so i got an instruction book, some yarn, some needles, and started at it.

i didn't have much "staying power" so i would only get a few rows per sitting. i didn't complete it that winter, so put it away, pulled it out again in september and finally finished it LAST winter.

and i really like it! but it cost me almost as much in yarn as the other one that i bought. oh, ok, $60. not near as much, but a lot for a scarf.

but i'm about ready for another. maybe this time i can work on my "stamina", and finish sooner, rather than later. (maybe i'm using the wrong metaphor, here...?)

it's tres sexy, too, as I found out the first night I knitted in bed, husband took one look at me and that's when we found out he finds that sexy. WHO KNEW?

I'm using this cool chunky multicolored yarn and it's looking GREAT. Well actually I accidentally increased my stitches so it went from 10 to 12 to 13 but now I am slowly decreasing so it'll be a cool, narrower at the ends and wider in the middle scarf.

And also, I accidentally made a few holes and my daughter (whom the scarf is for) LOVED them and asked if I can arrange to have a few more holes here and there because "it looks all punk."

WHO knew I was so cool?

Oh also, did you know that straight women can "feel all gay?" Yep. Sometimes I feel FABULOUS.
