I like neanderthals...



Some anthropologists say they died off, others say they were assimilated into the homosapien population through interbreeding...

Maybe it's just the mystery behind it all.

...homosapiens, extermination is probably the most viable theory, though not pleasant to consider.

5. I'd probably have to say Turkana Boy
I used to be real fond of #1470, but now it's looking less likely that he's actually ancestral.

Turkana Boy, on the other hand, seems pretty solid.

6. I'm kind of partial to Homo habilis myself.
The first ancestral humans to leave behind manufactured stone tools.



I also really like the little newly discovered "hobbits".
