Any graphic artists out there?

I'm curious as to what is the going rate to have a graphic artist design a logo for me.

1. I'm not a graphic artist, but I do hire them.

A logo'll run ya anywhere from about 250 bucks to about 25 mill, depending on what you want to spend.

3. Rates depend on about a dozen variables.

I couldn't tell you what to expect to pay without knowing a lot about the project. You'll get the best possible answer by consulting with a designer in person.

4. I'd break it down into hours you might reasonably expect...

Say:

1 hour to brainstorm with you, the client.

4 hours to rough concept a few ideas

2 hours to tighten up the one you pick

1 hour to finish it, spec it for different uses, burn it to disk, etc.

So 8 hours X 50.00, four hundred bucks. I bet you could find someone to do it for 1/2 of that or less though, if you look around.

I know a very talented democrat in Austin who's wanting to take on clients if you need a recommendation. I'd be happy to put you in touch with her. Actually, I know two people who might be good for this.
