I will never buy another Dell
So, I had bought a couple of things from Dell and used their financing. I had a payment due February 27th. Someone from Dell collections calls my home at eight in the damn morning on a Sunday. Tells me that my payment is almost ten days late and that I should pay him with a check by telephone. So, I paid off the entire balance and told him they had lost a customer forever.......

This sort of practice is really stupid, harassing someone EARLY on a Sunday Morning when the payment isn't even ten days late. I have NEVER experienced this sort of crap before. And another thing, they make paying through the Internet a real pain in the neck.......

So, when I am asked what I think a client should buy, and I am often asked, Dell will NEVER be suggested.

21. well, if your
renting to own your just throwing the money away with interest that could have made up for the straight cost of the alienware P.C. but if you could just straight pay off the damn computer in the first place, why the dragged out payments? or are your cats and you just hoing to have to eat the generic brand wet dog food for the next few months

Couldn't have you paid the bill when it was due and avoided the whole process?

Just saying.

15. Amen
Didn't like their customer service, didn't like speaking with their New Delhi reps, who despite pr spin are not very good at what they do. Moved to a mac and have never looked back, and their techs are great.

At least, that's what I understand. It is the reason why I didn't buy my new computer from them.

22. Not looking to start yet another tiresome Mac vs. PC flamewar
but you should consider a Mac. Seriously, I have convinced probably half a dozen people to switch to the Mac, and all of them ended up thanking me for it. The latest was my sister, a PC user for 8 years. She just got an ibook, and absolutely loves it. No viruses, no crashes, seamless integration between software and hardware, looks cool, and tech support in English you can understand! I honestly don't know why people put themselves through the agony of Windows, be it Dell or any other brand. Take my word for it, it's not necessary.

23. Good. Michael Dell is a big-time Chimp supporter...
The less business done with Dell, the better! :grr:

http://www.knowthecandidates.org/ktc/bushcontributors.htm
Dell Computers executive Michael Dell has also played a big part in the Bush campaign. He’s personally donated $250,000 to the RNC, and his company’s giving has swung heavily to Republican organizations--$353,000 vs $145,549 for Democratic groups. Dell has also been a very public supporter of Bush, lending his name to the campaign in several published letters and editorials.

25. I own a Dell laptop
It is the biggest piece of shit I've ever worked on. Despite the numerous anti-spyware tools I installed, plus Firefox, it still received an insane amount of spyware.

And to top it off, the LED screen just stopped working one day, so now I can't see anything on the screen, which defeats the whole purpose.

Once that happened, I took my 4 year-old PowerMac G4 (which I bought a few years BEFORE the Dell) out of the box again and installed Firefox. Since then, no spyware, no crashes, nothing. It works perfectly.

And, of course, the fact that Michael Dell chains his wallet to the Chimp's pants is yet another reason I will never buy a Dell again.
