Has anyone ever posted to any of the "Google groups"? Why are they |
so hostile to a person asking a question? Yikes, I will never go there again.

1. Google Groups are Usenet |
Usenet may best be described as the place of the great unwashed. My guess is that 75% of them are Webtv users. It is not a place for the timid to venture.

2. I think each area is run by a group of insiders and they want to keep it |
that way. Yuck! They are creepy.

3. Usenet is just oldskool |
It's good for some things (mostly technical stuff), terrible for others. It's kind of like the feedback section on Yahoo news. The thicker your skin, the better.
Why do you think it's 75% WebTV? I would have guessed WebTV (and AOL) users don't even know Usenet exists.

4. There is some good technical stuff in newsgroups |
I have found so great technical information on Usenet. It just seems to me that a large percentage of the trolls in newsgroups are Webtv users.
