Favorite Sushi!!
What's your favorite type of Sushi? I love anything with salmon in it but last time I was at Mikimotos (Great Japanese restuarant in Wilmington), GOPisEvil got me turned on to the fatty tuna.

Who else is a fan of Sushi. I could live on that stuff. I keep bugging Ramsey that we have to go to Moriomotos in Philly - owned by Iron Chef Japan & America: http://www.chefmorimoto.com/restaurant/restaurant.htm

You even know the Japanese names for everything! Sushi snob!

Anything with salmon for me! Also dig California rolls.

Rowlett recently got a sushi joint. I thought I died and went to heaven! I have to sweet talk reprehensor to get him to take me though. Good thing they have other stuff too. And as long as the Sapporo Ichiban is flowing he doesn't complain too much!

:hi: fy!

2. Unagi
hands down. (Of course, I'm allergic to tuna and salmon so my choices are limited.)

But just about any sushi will do.

but I love so many different kinds of nigiri and sashimi. Rainbow rolls are awesome as well.

I would eat it all the time if I could afford it. :-)

4. Tuna. It took me a long time to try any of the raw fish, and I immediately
feel in love with tuna. It's so sweet and tasty. My favorite sushi restaurant is Dragonfly in Gainesville, Florida. I worked there for 4 months and went there at least once a week. Now I have nowhere to go. The place ruined my ability to enjoy anything local.

10. Spicy Salmon Rolls are my favorite, but I'll try just about anything.
Local chef makes a Moscow Roll that is salmon in a maki roll with a spicy mayonnaise sauce.

2nd fave would be a Dynamite Roll with several different kinds of tuna in a spicy roll.

Damn, now I'm hungry an lunch is an hour & a half away.

20. Yes, you gave fair warning.
It's just that the curiosity got the best of me. I literally felt ill for a good half-hour after I looked at it.

Good to hear, but it's still a bit freaky. Hopefully I can erase that image from my mind before I go out for sushi on Friday. Don't think it's gonna happen though - thanks to you! :P

30. Might be real picture, but fake story!
Besides, I think there a barrier between your brain and the rest of your body. It's basically impossible for food pathogens to infest your brain. :)

No worry, sushi lovers!

13. Unagi, Maguro, Deep fried shrimp head hand roll
One of my best sushi meals was with a Japanese friend who ordered for the table, including things not on the menu.

Best of all was the hand roll with the deep fried shrimp head - not only delicious but really cool looking with the anetennae and other pokey bits sticking out.

15. I always like Rainbow Rolls and J.B. Rolls i/o w flying fish eggs
A rainbow roll is a california roll with different fish arranged on top, with a variety of colors. Usually raw tuna (red) salmon (orange) and some kind of white fish.

JB roll means Japanese Bagel - cream cheese, salmon and chives. I like them inside out with flying fish eggs coating the outside.

22. Hamachi (yellowtail) Mmmmm.
I also like toro. Called fatty tuna. Lately I have seen a lot of something called white tuna, which is similar, but i don't know where it comes from.

I also like saba (mackerel) because it tastes like the ocean. Most people prefer the less oily fish.

Save the eel for last because it is hard to taste anything else after the eel.

My meal cost $300, but it was well worth it. Really amazing. Morimoto shook my hand at the end, too, which made it even more worth it.

32. Shitake, in a tie with...
Hot Philadelphia rolls.

Salmon, cream cheese, rice, and seaweed, rolled the normal sushi way.

Then you dip the whole thing in dough and deep-fry it.

THEN you slice it.

I'm going to Hell for eating that.

Lightly seared tuna tataki with vidalia onion, chili paste and plenty of ponzu sauce to start with.

Then a chirashi bowl of rice topped with Unagi and donburi sweet sauce as the main course.
