1. I Don't Plan to Ever Retire Completely
but if I live long enough to make traditional 'retirement age,' I'll continue working - on MY terms. I've seen too many people begin that long, slow slide toward death shortly after retirement. I want to stay busy with projects and freelance work as long as I'm physically or mentally able.

3. I'd love to be able to retire someday
But I see no hope of that. I will be working in some capacity until the day I die.

5. Same here.
I am saving money for my kid's future-not mine. I want her to have a better life than I have.
I see myself dropping dead on the job and having them throw my body in the dumpster outside (saves on the funeral).

7. I'm hoping to be the scary lady on the corner with a million cats.
"Great! You've hit the ball in Old Lady Lyn's yard. No one is going in there to get it back!"

8. I'm already the grumpy old lady in my hood
And I'm still in my 20's. We used to have a Denise the Menace who lived next door. I was forever telling her to "shoo" and to go home.

10. I want to open a B&B in Carmel, CA
or somewhere on the central coast. That way I could just live there and run the place until...well until I can't anymore.

Its a dream that has very little basis in reality.

12. None of the categories worked for me; I voted "other."
I'm "only " 61, and I just found out at work that I might be eligible to retire this year! As long as I have my health insurance (I'm part-time) I'll go quickly...into retirement, I mean. lol. I've already planned what I want to do: POLITICS! And we all have * to thank for my newly-found activism. I'm not going to run for office, thank you no, I just want to work behind the scenes to help others win. I also plan to sleep more, read more, post more, work out more, etc...I can't wait!

:D

13. I think thats terrific California Peggy
Edited on Mon Mar-07-05 07:38 PM by madison2000
I went to Camp Wellstone a few weeks ago- to get some training for my own newly found activism. (I highly recommend it, and the next one is in LA, as a matter of fact.) http://www.wellstone.org/camp/index.aspx
There was a man in my session who was 78, and a full time "activist" who was involved in state and local politics as well as the AARP. I found him really inspiring and realized that when someone has that much life experience, people do tend to listen.

Edit: But I did make a category for full time activist!

14. Thank you, madison2000!
Maybe I'm not too old! Heck, I don't look or feel 61 most days. I plan on living approx. 30 more years, I hope. I want to be around long enough to see this country back on the right track, and also to see my grandson (he's almost 3) grow up. You need inspiration to keep going...

16. In about 4 years, I'm going to quit making a daily trip to an office...
And cease dealing with office-politics, etc., but I **will** be working from a home office. :)

My wife's PR-branding-identity business has done so well that there's room to take me on board.

The problem: She can use me now, but I've got a ways to go yet in the bureaucracy before I can "hit the silk" with maximum benefits.
