Teacher Caught Nude With 17 Year Old Student In SUV

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -- She's married and the mother of two, but on Monday, an upstate teacher is on paid leave for what happened with a student over the weekend.

The Anderson County superintendent Betty Bagley could not comment specifically because it is a personnel matter, but Donna Galloway, 33, has been suspended.

Galloway is a teacher at Westside High School.

According to an Anderson County incident report, a highway patrol trooper spotted Galloway at the Brown Road boat ramp Friday night.

She was there with a 17-year-old student from T.L. Hanna High School.

The trooper reported that he approached a red SUV and saw Galloway inside -- totally nude -- and a young man pulling up his pants.

In the vehicle, the trooper found an I.D. card stating that Galloway was a teacher at Westside. The student told the trooper he was a Hanna student.

The trooper then notified the sheriff's office, who then took over the case.

"When I learned about the incident, I was very saddened and disturbed about it to say the least," said Bagley. "We moved immediately to do what was necessary to be done, and that was to place her on administrative leave."

I think the AP is reporting on more of these cases lately, but I don't think it's happening anymore frequently than in years past (it's probably less frequently). I think the reason why we are all hearing about these kinds of stories recently is because some politicians would like to see the teaching profession discredited. When they make all teachers look bad, then they can say, "see, those teachers don't know what they are doing and they can't be trusted, so listen to me instead". After all, it's the politicians that want all the standardized tests, not the teachers. Also, if teachers are made to look unprofessional, then the government looks justified in giving them low salaries and minimal benefits. That's my theory.

9. I don't think it's anything new - it's just being reported now

When I was a senior, one of the female students was having an affair with a male teacher. By the end of the school year he had divorced his wife and they married a month after graduation. He wasn't fired or disciplined and is currently a principal at one of the schools in the district.

I also used to have a married male teacher come on to me a LOT - trying to set up actual dates, etc. I always turned him down but I didn't tell anyone about it. He was gone within a couple of years - I figured someone did finally tell.

I also dated a guy some years back that said he had an affair with one of his high school teachers.

It's always been there...just now coming out.

But the reason we are hearing so much about these is that women are catching up to men in the sex department, openness wise. And that pisses people off.

indeed, a 14 year old boy (or 17 in this case) is probably more likely to respond positively to a solicitation from a female teacher than a female student would to a male. but as women grow in overt sexual power, people are threatened, and scandalised, while they sorta expect male teachers to be pigs.
