3. ah, I was gloating earlier about it being 40 degrees and rain |
|
they changed the report, switching over to freezing rain and then snow 3-6 inches. Not too bad, but jesus, we have had enough at this point.

6. We must be near each other................ |
|
it's the same where I am. This sucks. You look at a weather map and the only part of the country that is still frozen in place is the northeast. Three out of the four seasons around here I can stand. Guess which one I can't? Winter never gives up it's icy grip here until the very last minute. :scared:

7. This is my last Winter! |
|
Yet another damn blizzard here on Long Island. On my birthday no less. I'll be out all fucking night clearing the goddamn driveway again. Happy Fuckin' Birthday to me!
I'm retired, my wife is retiring in April and by this time next year I hope to be somewhere (on the East Coast of course) where it doesn't snow.
I love NY, but I've had it with this shit weather!

9. Think about it, long and hard.................. |
|
I hated winter as well. After retirement (or, being retired, I should say) I moved to Florida seeking that little piece of paradise I keep hearing about. I hated it. The culture shock will just plain kick your ass. If you've lived on Long Island for a great part of your life, Florida will seem as backward as a third world country. Culture, in most of Florida, is non-existent. True, in the larger cities like Sarasota, Fort Myers, Miami etc. there are many cultural events. But then, you have to deal with the traffic and all the problems population brings. Of course, being from Long Island, you know about that. In the summer you'll think you are within the gates of hell. You dare not do anything outside between 9 AM and 9 PM. You will live an air-conditioned life during the summer months. Always. I moved back to New York after 2 years. This is my first winter back, and yes, it does suck. But it's home. I know what to expect. I can put up with the winters easier than I can adjust to the many changes that come with moving, lock, stock and barrel to some place I'm not acquainted with and people who are "different" (not all of course, but many are VERY different). Just a suggestion. Perhaps you have all of these bases covered already. Good luck.
