My dead Guniea Pig will have to spend extra months in the freezer |
|
With this weather, I don't think we'll see the spring thaw until about Mid-June! We'll just have to have his Burial Services then.
Got about 10 inches SO FAR and it's supposed to continue on till early afternoon..... and that's on top of the approx. 3 feet we already had.
Oh well. At least it's cozy in here and we have plenty to eat. The freezer is crammed full!!!
JUST KIDDING!!!! SHEEESH. :-) I will really miss my Pig.
This post is written in loving memory of Steve. May he RIP :-( (As soon as I can get him out there)

...we had our dead bunny in the freezer for a year and a half. We kept forgetting he was in there (he was vacuum-packed and wrapped in aluminum foil), but finally got him in the ground this past fall just before the freeze-up.

3. I can see how that would happen where you are |
|
The thaw there in Alaska must give you a REALLY short window in which to bury dead pets. Sorry about your bunny. :-(

8. We generally have from May to October for burials... |
|
It was sad about the bunny but he was 10 years old -- probably the oldest bunny in captivity -- so he had a good life.

7. They were originally bred in Peru... |
|
...as meat animals, but it's not a good idea to eat any animal that died of its own accord.

6. I've buried 4 of them and am still in mourning for the last two who died |
|
a year and two years ago, respectively. And then there is little Toastie who died in 1997. Damned, I can't get over that little guy. Cuddles was my first.
