Is it normal to sign a nondisclosure agreement before an interview? |

I have an interview with a company next week.
I've been doing this type of work for a while (training materials for technology companies), but have not been required to sign anything until I was hired either as an employee, or as a consultant.
Maybe I've been "sheltered". Has anyone else had to do something like this?

It was through a temp service. The temp service made me sign the company's (that I'd be interviewing with) non disclosure agreement. This position was in research and development. I guess that even being told about the research project that I would be potentially doing was sensitive material.

5. We do it where I work. |

The interview often requires revealing some propietary information to the applicants. We don't want them blabbing our trade secrets.

It's not uncommon. If you get uncomfortable with what is being disclosed, thinking it may be getting too close to your area of expertise (and where you might be working elsewhere in the future), consider asking them to stop disclosing.
