What's the best pub in your town? |
|
Me I like the Blarneystone in Vancouver, that or the Shebeen. As well, Saint James Well in my native Port Moody is a good place.
However if you want a rougher kind of night check out Jake's Crossing.

Owned by my best friend and named after an old blues song, they sell 31 flavors of wings....The best in town, though I swore off of them long ago.
Probably the most liberal bar in town, they fired the openly Republican DJ and got Sirius™ this year. It just gets better and better.

4. HEyHEY, the Blarneystone isn't in your town |
|
Little test question for you - can you afford cab fair from the pub to your home? I think my ride would be about $10 and yours would be $500.

8. I live in a dry county. |
|
(ask me if you don't know what that means)
but we do have a private club in town called the Dardanelle Club. I like it a lot. On Thursdays they have all-you-can-eat appetizers.

12. Pub? Alcohol by the drink? Beer? What's that? |
|
Chee-rist, I live in a dry county. Well, wine by the glass in the local restaurants is OK, and you can bring your own beer (but no one can see what you have in that brown paper bag!!). So, no pubs.
It's a drag. Beautiful place, and twenty minutes to the north you can find a few good pubs, but it's north over a rather windy, steep mountain road. Probably won't stay dry for too much longer simply b/c tourism is greatly increasing in this area yet the big restaurants won't come in if they can't have happy hours and the townspeople are complaining about jobs (much better to work at TGIF's, in their opinion, than WalMart - and they're probably right).
And of course, it has helped the people of this county find another thing to do besides drink - they've found meth! Yay! Rural America is in deeeep trouble, as if y'all hadn't already figured that out.

Nice little Irish Pub with live music on the weekends... with Guinness, Bass, Warsteiner and more on draft, and one of the only places left in Florida where smoking is allowed... even though I am trying to quit.
