BOSTON BASEBALL HOOLIGANS?? They have TWO days to "get ready"?
After what happened on Saturday all I could think was that with a 4PM game on Sunday the Red Sox fans would be stewing and brewing all day to uh "get ready". Now they suspended to tonight and today is Columbus Day?!?!?

Now in no way what to stereotype anyone and I hope cooler heads prevail tonight BUT......

I expect that all those who are off work today and knew it may have continued into last night and early this morning.

Oh brother I am taking a nap when I get home so I can watch this.

1. Yuo're really gonna get flamed by using the word hooligans
Not sure how you meant this post.

Both teams need to cool off.

Zimmer needs to realize that being 72 years old does not excuse him from being a jerk.

2. Don't blame the fans
At Saturday's game there were NO arrests in Fenway. None! That never happens during any game let alone a Sox-Yankees game. Might have had something to do with cutting off beer sales in the fourth inning but, nevertheless, police and baseball people were amazed at how well-behaved the fans were. Much more behaved than the multi-million dollar guys on the field.

Just a little anecdote to add to the other stories of Game 3.

3. I was there, the crowd was remarkably well-behaved, though loud!
And again, I wonder how the Yankee fans will respond to that, especially with the NY Media calling us animals.

4. Yeah we watched at a friend's house
We assumed that the guy in the bullpen had jumped the fence and that was basically what was reported. Of course later we found out the complete opposite.

5. offended
Underpants.

Did you know that there were no arrests at Fenway on Saturday?

No one charged the field. The Fans were vocal and passionate but the players determine the outcome. The fans were roudy but not violent.

I am going tonight and don't plan on drinking at all. It is after all monday.

Watch for the baseball.

There is an outside chance that Jeff Nelson and Karim "the Goon" Garcia will be charged with assault though. Garcia, in restraining the Special Ed Teacher attacked by Jeff nelson, was hitting a man while he was down with a baseball in his fist. I was seventy feet from this fracas and watched the whole sad episode.

7. no problem
Red Sox fans (and yankee fans) respect the game enough to let the players determine the outcome.

I have been defending the poor bullpen guy on several boards since I am one of very few people who actually saw what happened and am incensed about it.

BPD had to make a spot decision not to arrest Nelson on the scene. Which probably would have sparked, who knows what.

8. Braden, did you call the Boston Police? They are looking for witnesses
My nephew by marriage was sitting pretty close to where you were and he said that he saw something going on, but couldn't make out who was doing what.

You should call the cops if you haven't already-Nelson and Garcia are probably going to be arraigned tomorrow before the game.

9. not yet, There were four Boston Cops Standing
Above the Yankee Bullpen. Before My name gets in the papers and I start getting Hate Mail, I will let them be the best witnesses.

There is also a security camera right below the retired numbers facade. I am sure that will give them an excellent picture of what really happened.
