We need an honest dialogue about fatness.
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 01:03 PM by ProudToBeLiberal
I have to say that fatness keeps me doing things that I would like to do. the fatness is like a chain that has me around the ankles. I can smell the good aroma in the world, but I can never touch and taste it.

Now some people say being fat can't be helped because of the genes or some people say it's how you were raised up etc and etc. Well I don't want to dwell on the fatness. I want to dwell on the solution. There are literally thousands and thousands of diet plans out there, but I don't think it's the real solution. I think the real solution is exercise. Now I know people don't like to excercise because it shows their fatness off. We don't want to feel a shamed because of the fatness. But if you want to open new doors for you, if you want people to stop staring at you as if you have somekind of a hideous disease, if you want to go to the mall and be able to buy clothes that fit you then I think you have to take your life into your own hands.

Here's my story. This fatness has prevented me from many things. It has prevented me from enjoying my life. Then the best thing happened to me, I failed my swimming test (my college requires for us to pass a swimming test if you want to graduate). And so I had to sign up for Beginning Swim. I was so scared because people were going to see my fatness. But i had to learn how to swim if I wanted to graduate in the future. And so for a couple of months I began to swim. After that I began to love to swim. I felt that oncee I was in the water my fatness went away. I felt free for once in my life. And so when I have time I try to go swimming everyday. Swimming has not only impacted me physically but more importanly mentally. It makes me feel better about myself. So even if you're afraid try to excercise. Once you get started you won't regret it. You just have to pass that first hurdle. :)

Let's have a dialogue about fatness.
