Are you mentally ill?

Forgive the flippancy of the responses below. I'm definitely a member of the team (mentally ill, that is) and laughing about it is the only way I stay alive. Apologies in advance if anyone's offended.

I'd be interested to hear whether folks who feel they are ill are getting treatment and if not, why not. I myself tried a psychologist, several psychiatrists and a variety of medications and found that the latter could make me feel happy but it felt artificial and weird. The best of the medications, Luvox, eventually did some slight damage to my liver, so I've been muddling through without treatment for years now. DU is my therapy; sad huh?:D

On a serious note, I would recommend checking out the DU Mental Health Group. There are some great posts (and DUers) there who are more than happy to lend a sympathetic ear to whatever you're going through.

The only personality type that does NOT show any signs of overt mental illness are those who fit mildly into the "Antisocial" category. These include many millionaires and politicians. Why? Well they can rationalize (spin) any of their misdeeds into a positive with little to no guilt. ;)

The rest of us poor slobs are either idiots, full of sh*t, or are what George Carlin affectionately refers to as *F*cking Nuts!*
