I'm sick of this cult of the "greedy eighties". |

Fuck me, talk about blinders!
Everybody's just as greedy as then, if not more... I think the only difference is that fewer people, per capita, can afford to flaunt it to the degree greed was flaunted in the eighties. The rich are still getting richer, and a "5ive Star" hoody costs as much as an Armani sweater, so who's kidding who?
And now that shoulder pads are coming back, I doubt we'll notice much of a difference.
on edit: so no more of this "I'm so glad we've evolved since the materialistic eighties" nonsense, okay? Or do I have to come down there.

2. isn't it funny that Bush is appealing to the selfishness of |

seniors when he says that SS reform won't affect their checks "if they're already retired or just about to be retired".
The idea that they'll agree that it needs to be changed as long as it doesn't impact them personally is so ultimately "republican", as is the appeal to their selfishness.
Greedy, selfish, mean minded little kids. They remind me of spoiled, selfish little brats.

Saying that we have come so far since the 80's is like saying that America is so much better than when it discriminated against Blacks. Give me a break.
