My children are on their way to Paris -ask me anything! |
|
I dropped them off at the airport for a 3PM flight. They're all "grown up"(all 20ish)and meeting up with their aunt and uncle but, DAMN, it's scary as their mother to send them off like this. :scared: Of course, they're all very excited and I'm excited for them-but-I'm still feeling soooo nervous. Good thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks for letting me vent.

It is by far, my favorite city in the world. We honeymooned there and in Brittany and had a wonderful time.
The French are, in spite of what you may have read or heard, very nice to Americans. I speak French, but wasn't fluent at the time, and they were so accomodating about helping me. It was a wonderful experience.
I can't wait to take my own children there, but my youngest is only 8, so we are going to wait a little bit longer.

Has been in Phoenix for the last couple of months, it's very nerve-wracking.
Paris is a gorgeous city and a visit there will definitely cure them of any FReeperish tendancies to despise the French.

Last spring break, my 19yo daughter went to Thailand with her BF that we did not know very well (at that time), on HIS dime.
I made my daughter copy and fax me his drivers license, and his parents address and phone number.
She was fine of course - had a great time. They really can take care of themselves, and how else will they get the life skills they need.

Yes, I'm feeling better now-had a nice lunch with a glass of French (of course) wine. I sure did tell them to let the French people they meet know that they're Kerry people and are appalled by *-I didn't really need to remind them tho. We have daily laughs at that pathetic buffoon!
They're staying in an 3 bdrm apartment right in the center of the city. (not at a Paris Hilton....lol) They're going to take tons of photos and will have many great stories to tell,I'm sure. I hope Paris is ready for them! They will be back on ground by 2AM -I'll be pacing til I hear from them, tho.
