I worked for one week for a temp agency delivering appliances because my unemployment ran out. It sucked. I start tomorrow at at a trucking company. I have to be in South Austin at 5:00 am. I'll be driving a belly dump dump truck. You get paid by the load. 25 percent of what the truck makes. They are making a new highway between Round Rock and Georgetown(130). This company has the hauling contract and it should be a good 5 years before it's done. The neocons can't send this job to China. Globalize this you asshole bush.

I have been there, my friend, and it is not a situation I wish on anyone.
Good luck!

9. Good for you. Keep trying. The human interest part MIGHT do the trick. |
|
It would be nice to seem some real people's thoughts for a change.

Jobs are really hard to get here in Austin, whether one is degreed or not. I can't even get hired at the new whole foods, let alone the tech sector. I suppose it is practice for the coming depression. They can't outsource your new job, but they damn sure can bring in "guest drivers".

They're aleady bringing in nurses from India. My AS degree didn't help me at all for job searching. I put out over 400 applications on monster and only got about 5 or 6 offers for low paying jobs.

I wish you the best of luck in your new job. Makin' a livin' in this goddamn wreck of an economy is 'hard work'.

That's five years if they stay on schedule. Road work often takes longer than what is estimated. :)
