8. Yes. I prefer them over Zepplin.
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 04:46 PM by xmas74
Not everyone has to fall in line. They just wanted to know what we were listening to right now-now I have in some Doors.

And now I do have on some Zepplin-I am just listening to the radio today.

4. I like that one that starts...
Down by the seaside. Also going to California with an aching in my heart. I never can remember Led Zeppelin titles because they're hardly ever the words of the song. I think Jimmie Page is the best guitarist ever, IMHO. Oh -- In the Light, I think it is. I love that one.

6. Going to California
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 04:28 PM by MrScorpio
Listening to it now

Edit: Lyrics

Going To California

Spent my days with a woman unkind, Smoked my stuff and drank all my wine.
Made up my mind to make a new start, Going To California with an aching in my heart.
Someone told me there's a girl out there with love in her eyes and flowers in her hair.
Took my chances on a big jet plane, never let them tell you that they're all the same.
The sea was red and the sky was grey, wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today.
The mountains and the canyons started to tremble and shake as the children of the sun began to awake.

Seems that the wrath of the Gods
Got a punch on the nose and it started to flow;
I think I might be sinking.
Throw me a line if I reach it in time
I'll meet you up there where the path
Runs straight and high.

To find a queen without a king,
They say she plays guitar and cries and sings... la la la
Ride a white mare in the footsteps of dawn
Tryin' to find a woman who's never, never, never been born.
Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams,
Telling myself it's not as hard, hard, hard as it seems.

11. Kashmir - Love that song!
Kashmir

Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed

Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace, whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate, the story was quite clear
Oh, oh.

Oh, I been flying... mama, there ain't no denyin'
I've been flying, ain't no denyin', no denyin'

All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I've been.

Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high and true, when movin' through Kashmir.

Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
Ohh.

When I'm on, when I'm on my way, yeah
When I see, when I see the way, you stay-yeah

Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when I'm down...
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well I'm down, so down
Ooh, my baby, oooh, my baby, let me take you there

Let me take you there. Let me take you there

12. The Rain Song.....
Edited on Mon Mar-14-05 04:44 PM by jus_the_facts
:loveya:

This is the springtime of my loving-
The second season I am to know
You are the sunlight in my growing-
So little warmth I’ve felt before.
It isn’t hard to feel me glowing-
I watched the fire that grew so low.

It is the summer of my smiles-
Flee from me keepers of the gloom.
Speak to me only with your eyes
It is to you I give this tune.
Ain’t so hard to recognize-
These things are clear to all from
Time to time. ooooh...

Talk talk-
I’ve felt the coldness of my winter
I never thought it would ever go
I cursed the gloom that set upon us...

But I know that I love you so
But I know that I love you so.

These are the seasons of emotion
And like the winds they rise and fall
This is the wonder of devotion-
I see the torch we all must hold.
This is the mystery of the quotient-
Upon us all a little rain
Must fall.
Just a little rain?
Ooooh, yeah yeah yeah!

16. Robert Plant is going to be at SXSW festival in Austin TX this week...
...I'll be there - jealous?

ALSO

I touched Robert Plant in 1989 when I had the front row at a Robert Plant concert at Hersheypark Arena. He was doing the second verse of "In the Mood" off of his solo album "Principle of the Moment"

I had tickets to see Zeppelin back when I was a young'in but well, Boneham died

I loved listening to Zeppelin and my fundie schoolmates thought I was a devil worshiper that would end up in hell. Somehow I managed to stay a pretty decent Christian (albeit a liberal once since obviously I listen to that devil music Led Zeppelin)

27. I saw Plant in '88 or thereabouts......
And that's what he opened with as well. Absolutely awesome! Plant hit that intro, the guitar player crunched the opening chord, and the place just fell into a frenzy. Good times. Have fun at SXSW. I hope that Plant is a good keynote.

21. Here's my Led Zeppelin claim to fame...
I was at their VERY FIRST EVER USA CONCERT in Denver in 1968. Their first album hadn't come out yet, and nobody had even heard of them. We were there to see Vanilla Fudge and Spirit, who were the headliners. LZ completely blew us away.

26. I don't remember what they opened with...
...but they played nearly all the songs on Led Zeppelin I, which I bought probably the first day it came out. It was really one of the best concerts I ever saw, and especially sweet because it was a surprise. Dazed and Confused was particularly memorable.

31. The Song Remains the Same
I had a dream. Crazy dream.
Anything I wanted to know, any place I needed to go

Hear my song. People won't you listen now? Sing along.
You don't know what you're missing now.
Any little song that you know
Everything that's small has to grow.
And it has to grow!

California sunlight, sweet Calcutta rain
Honolulu starbright - .

Sing out Hare Hare, dance the Hoochie Koo.
City lights are oh so bright, as we go sliding... sliding... sliding through.

best piece of music they ever recorded . insane 12 string guitar playing by page.
