I now begin a boycott of CD's |
|
I just fulfilled my commitment with the CD club I belong to (I keep my promises) and paid the bill. I now commence a boycott of compact disc purchases until the RIAA either backs away from the their bullying of ordinary file sharers or lowers the prices of CD's.

Prince offers his new stuff on his website often at much lower prices.
Mariah Carey released several of hers $2.-4. less than normal price. Of course, other labels howled that she was doing it to increase her sales. Which it did.
on edit:
So here was Mariah Carey, at the time hands down the #1 artist in the country, selling her CDs below normal industry pricing.
So not only did rival labels have to compete with the artist herself, but also with lower CD prices. What do you think the other labels did?
Nothing. They were to damn greedy to compete.
