|
Up, Up with People You meet them wherever you go. Up, Up with People Their the best kind of folks we know!!!
If more people were for people, People every where They'rd be alot less people to worry about And alot more people who care
Smiley faces everyone and take a bow. !!!! :-)
Sidenote: not a bad message, but no wonder the pukes eventually bit us in the ass
(Just my humble opinion)

1. Yes, they were the anti-counter culture '60's/70's group |
|
...I met someone who traveled with them (this is one of those 6 degrees of separation stories) who maintained that they partied like animals in every imaginable way. I don't know if it's true or not but I'd like to think so.

...that, at least some of them, were party animals. When they played in New Orleans, back in the 70's, they were all over the gay bars. They didn't seem too concerned about their image, either.

8. My ex-wife's aunt was IN Up with People. |
|
My recollection is that they were a lot like Polyphonic Spree, except they didn't castrate themselves, wear Nikes, and wait for Jesus to come pick them up in the Spaceship U.S.S. Hale-Bopp.

10. When I was a kid, we had one of them stay with us |
|
I think my mom got roped into it somehow through church. He was a very clean cut, quiet, polite, young man is all I remember. But still, I often (as an adult) wonder how my mom could bring a stranger into our house, having two young kids at home.

13. When I was a kid, we boarded two UWP guys for a week |
|
One was an African-American college student from Mississippi. The other was Japanese college student who spoke very little English. This was quite an experience for my family, living as we did in a predominantly white, semi-rural upstate New York community. They were both very smart, interesting and likeable people and the dinnertime discussions of racial relations in America (1960s) were fascinating.
