Any recommendations for a parking lot near the place? I haven't been up there for quite a long time.

24. green st parking garage one street over from central square T
Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 03:09 PM by jonnyblitz
turn left or right on Pearl St near central square T stop and it's right there on green st. 1 dollar an hour with max of 10 bucks for 24 hours. its not that far of a walk up Mass Ave heading to Harvard SQ to get to People's RepubliK. its one of the cheapest garages in the area to park at, MUCH cheaper than the Harvard Sq garages. I thank Kathy in Cambridge for letting me know of this place.

i went to the fours. :P

we wanted to get dinner too, so our choices were Limited. the 2 big-irish bars ("the haLf door" and "the hoLy ground") were absoLuteLy mobbed. the 4's was crowded too, but we didn't have to wait outside and that was good enough for me.

i was pissed though - i wanted my 2nd heLping of boiLed dinner but they had just run out. :(
so i got the Lamb stew and tips.

My Western Mass. DU gathering in December was a little... underattended, let's say. So I need to find some DUers who know how to have a good time! This is clearly the solution. :o

If I come in on route 2, does it make sense to park at Alewife & take the T in?

70. HI Jonny - I just have a thing about the P.R.
With a DU name like mine you'd think I'd be a lover of the place - but I just don't like the lay-out for getting together and chatting. I'd love to see you and Kathy somewhere else maybe later in the year - I'm going to the UK in April, but then I'm clear until June.
Have a great time today. :loveya:

we will have to think of an alternative plan to hang out. I have never been to any of the P.R. gatherings so this is a first for me. You aren't the first one mentioning not caring for the P.R. I usually don't go out to bars anymore period since I really don't drink so it doesn't matter to me. :smoke: no worries anyway. thanks for thinking of me though.

on edit: I DID drink at the DNC thing at Clerys but that was way out of character for me just incase you were thinkin you saw me drinking. i was that night but I usually never do.

75. Do you have to be 21 if you are not drinking?
My daughter is 20; on Spring Break from college, and living in Newton w/her BF who IS 21. I know Maine law would prohibit her, but does Mass law? If she drinks soda all night, would she be allowed in? Under Maine law, if they serve food (ie. meals-yes)

She might like something like this.

As long as she's having a good time, and the BF is too.

I'm not making this up cause I'm her mom...she's just not much of a drinker. She told me once that she just doesn't like the idea of losing control in any way...despite being as Irish as Paddy's pig AND born on St. Patricks's Day. Maybe it's that little bit of German in her.
