I thought it was nice of them to identify themselves on little name tags so I could tell them "no" before I'd even finished opening the door...

My favorite reply is...Your folks killed some of my ancestors at Mountain Meadows.
It's not true, but then since neither side is dealing in the truth that seems fair.

is on the courthouse square in Harrison AR, as many of the folks killed started out from this part of Arkansas.

Families that the "Dannite" mob thought had been involved in getting them run out of that state.

on AR 7 just south of Harrison gives details, and the memorial gives some names, I think....its been a while since I read it. But realize that Harrison AR is only about 30 miles south of the MO line.

Disclaimer: I got this tactic from a DUer some time ago and cant take credit for it. I cant for the life of me remember who that DUer was though.

after his parents divorced he moved in with his dad. One day the Mormons came to visit and to ask why he hadn't been attending services. Needless to say, they weren't happy when they found him drinking Coffee and listening to Ozzy Osbourne

16. I used to work for a Mormon boss |

She drank hot cocoa in lieu of coffee and liked chocolate. I didn't like her, but I couldn't be evil and tell her that chocolate has trace amounts of caffiene in it. In retrospect, my negative feelings toward her haven't mellowed with time, and now I wish I had told her--just for purely informative reasons, of course.

They should have just kicked out all the black people and forced them to form their own dominations and ordain their own ministers in a segregated fashion, like most protestants do to this day.

That isn't true. In fact, they believe men can only become gods IF they are married to a woman who is a co-equal God with him. It may be wierd to you but it isn't sexist.

Edited on Thu Mar-17-05 08:19 PM by aQuArius
A lot of my (guy) friends from high school were told by their parents that they wouldn't get ANY financial help for school unless they went on a mission. So, when I see them I usually speak to them briefly and most of the time they know someone I am related to or we can find a common link if they're from Utah. Then, I let them know I know about the church and I am not interested and they are on their way. BTW- If two "elders" (male missionaries) come to the door and you are a female at home by yourself, they're not allowed to enter your house anyway.

with 5 big, barking dogs by my side i lean over the fence and relate the bibilcal story of daniel in the lion's den and how faith in God protected him.
usually its somethng like "come on in guys, the dogs won't bite, after all how do you God didn't put me and the dogs here to test your faith?"
classic.
most folks don't like these young men, but i respect what their faith has motivated them to do, leave home for a year or two and preach what they believe.
gee, if only more so-called liberals would have such faith in their ideals.
