can we talk about anything else |
|
except french kissing and who to spend the night with? I know who I want to do it with and since it is none from DU, I leave it like that. And xmas' thread was about age difference and double standards.

it wasn't me who got locked. xmas thread got locked and others who were more obvious didn't. You will not get on my ignore list because I am not a donor and therefor don't have the possibility. I wouldn't do it anyway, so don't worry :)

We could talk about WTF that song is supposed to mean. I never had any idea, except that the young Zappa was reputed to be a good guitar player.

I could not even read "The Cat in the Hat" auf Deutsch. I kinda shudder at Goethe, since I hold "The Sufferings of Young Werther" partly responsible for making me suicidal when I was in my twenties, but the two courses on Deutsch geschichte were my favorites in college, but Buddenbrooks was somewhat depressing as well. Are we Germans given to dark moods?

I would not put Buddenbrooks ahead of Vonnegut's "Mother Night" although that book involves two suicides as well. I am trying to think of more German authors, and all I come up with is E.F. Schumacher, an economist. Economists are traditionally gloomy, but Schumacher is not.

12. I'll go searching for the threads by xmas. |
|
The news from the EKG wasn't good. It showed one heart attack. The heart mummer that wasn't there when I saw this doctor back in 1998, was unmistakable this time. We scheduled a few test and I'll figure what to do after I have a better idea about my options.

one about something like ... the 'age difference in someone that you dated' but there was nothing objectionable when I last looked.
Oh well I hope she enjoyed the thread before it got too hot to handle.
I did start one thread that had a leg which was beginning to look like a train wreck about to happen. I didn't respond to that inflammatory post and only one other person did, so that died a natural death without getting locked.
I believe that one heart attack happened while I was here at the computer two weeks ago, but there's really no way to tell exactly when it took place and there are 'silent heart attacks' so I may not have even known about it when it happened. We won't know anything more until we do the test. It may require surgery or just prescriptions to avoid another heart attack. I'm not worried because I believe that I'll be OK.

that is really good. But I hope you get around a surgery.
The thread by xmas I was talking about was not the one with the age different. She started one this night. It got locked a bit afer I showed up. Sometimes I am amazed how long some of my threads are living.

23. Your English was perfectly understandable, thank you for the complement. |
|
I was being silly because I don't want to dwell on this too much.
After returning home from the doctor's appointment yesterday - I opened a fresh bottle of Chevas and poured myself a Scotch Mist, sat down and thought holy-shit I had a heart attack, now what the hell do I do.
Tim McGraw said it very well in his hit song last year "Live Like You Were Dieing". I've lived my life with that attitude for years. I realized a long time ago that once today is gone, it's gone forever so I try to celebrate every sunrise and make the most of the new day. There really are very few do-overs in life and I get down-in-the-dumps just like everyone does but I refuse to waste my precious time looking at the depressing side of life for too long.
So let's  while we can making memories to enjoy during the rocking-chair on the front porch days.

laying under the shade of a huge tree watching the Swans float by has replaced my days of sailing, pulling on yacht braided ropes.
I was once the first mate on a 60 foot sport fishing boat from Key West Florida to the New York Harbor, the flying fish and dolphins played in the wake of our boat while we were still in the Gulf Stream.
Memories ! I've got some to make your hair stand on end, some that will make you laugh so much that your sides would hurt and some that might make anyone cry. But Not Enough Yet! ......
