Prediction From a Guy Who Warned About 911 a Week Before
I visit a stock trading BBS and one of the regulars there was all a buzz the week before 9-11 about "something huge and devistating" about to hit the US and how it would be unimaginable ... No, he didnt specifically say that planes would be flown into buildings. But he did say he got info from sources he couldn't reveal.

Anyway, same guy now says to expect a major event in the last week of Oct. directed against a major political figure. Again, no specifics but he was right on about 9-11 so he's got my attention. Just thought I'd mention this.

24. I've been having the same sense of dread.
2004 feels like it'll be 1968 in the worst kind of way.

3. Yeah, right!
Do you really want us to believe that some guy predicted 9/11 in advance and is still out walking around, free to make more predictions?

13. Well, he wouldn't be alone
Plenty of people appear to have had foreknowledge of 9/11, and are still with us.

For instance, there's the story of David Schippers (yes, that guy: former Chief Investigative Counsel for the US House Judiciary Committee and head prosecutor responsible for conducting the Clinton impeachment). He claims he received information from "impeccable" US intelligence sources, including FBI agents, that a massive attack was being planned by terrorists targeting the financial district of lower Manhattan. (He went public with this two days after the attack in a radio interview.) He said he had tried warning Ashcroft and other officials six weeks before the attacks.

"According to Schippers, these agents knew, months before the attacks, the names of the hijackers, the targets of their attacks, the proposed dates, and the sources of their funding, along with other information. At least two weeks prior to 11th September, the FBI agents again confirmed that an attack on lower Manhattan, orchestrated by Osama bin Laden, was imminent. However, the FBI command cut short their investigations into the impending terrorist attacks and those involved, threatening the agents with prosecution under the National Security Act if they publicised information pertaining to their investigations.

"The agents subsequently sought the council of David Schippers in order to pressure elements in the US government to take action to prevent the attacks. Schippers warned many Congressmen and Senators, and also attempted to contact US Attorney General John Ashcroft without success, managing only to explain the situation to a lower-ranking Justice Dept. official who promised a return call from Ashcroft the next day. The Attorney General did not return the call despite the gravity of the situation. Schippers is now legally representing one FBI agent in a suit against the US government in an attempt to subpoena their testimony, so that he can legally speak about the blocked investigation on public record."

27. speechless
man, i've read things that made me say lihop or mihop, and i firmly believe that such an event could not occour without some warning from our intel or intel from our allies, but that passage you just posted, well, the tinfoilhat stuff makes more sense than the "offical" story.

what bothers me about what you just posted is that, evidently, a number of congressmen and senators were aware beforehand. what are the chances they were all rw zealots? whoever they are, they failed to act, and continue to fail to act, in the best interest of our country, not to mention their DUTY to THE PEOPLE.

this is nasty medicine. some dems have to be invovled in this. who knew? Who the Hell Knew?!

9. You should be more skeptical
Bush has lied to you every step of the way.

Right now, I have more faith in the word of an anonymous poster posting to another poster I don't even know, than I do in pResident Bush or anyone in his aministration, to tell me what is going on.

I'll certainly restock some of my canned goods. I have nothing to lose, unless the guy is right and all hell breaks lose, and I'm not prepared. Revolution is a'comin if the Bush boys get back in office. You can count on that, too, and it hasn't happened yet.

Go on history and track record, Blue-Jay, not your hope and desire that everything will be okay.

14. What in the hell are you prattling on about?
My post was meant to be slightly amusing, and an example of my skepticism of "predictions". I don't need any words in my mouth that aren't my own.

Jeez.

You might want to think about posting this in General Discussion as well. It deserves a wide read.

15. Hey Blue Jay...
"You might want to think about posting this in General Discussion as well. It deserves a wide read."

I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. But, I posted a serious thread yesterday about how to overcome the e-voting thing, and the first five responses were jokes like yours, then the thread died.

I am sorry, I take this stuff seriously. It IS serious, and it deserved a serious answer. Or maybe you can just mail in your absentee ballot for Bush now, and take the next thirteen months off.

17. Yes. Levity is the heart of conservatism.
Or something. I fail to see how cracking wise is a tacit vote for Bush*. Sorry about your thread yesterday. Sometimes they tend to drop, due to the large number of posters at DU. Surely, the people that didn't do you the honor of a serious reply are undercover Freepers.

For the record, I take politics VERY seriously. That said, I won't let the current administration add my sense of humor to the long list of things that they've stolen.

A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel sticking out of his pants. the bartender says, "Hey Captain! Did you know that there's a steering wheel in your pants?" The pirate replies, "Aye, it's driving me nuts"
