but I never clicked the links. She said that she never sent them. Then she found out that her computer was slammed with viruses. Nothing ever got through to my computer, though. Norton stuffed them.

Haven't for years, ever since the discovery of certain 'red programs' that can be used to set up a hot connect between your PC and theirs via an IM.
It's sad that you can't just meet people online now the way we did only several years ago. :(
