Grout question
I have some tiles where the grout is pretty much funked out and old/crusty. Can I scrape off the dried out funky stuff and re-grout? Or must I just start fresh and retile?

Will fresh grout stick to remnants of old grout?

Most of the grout is okay, so I'd rather fix the areas necessary rather than replace it all.

1. My home repair book, which I leant to my son, so I can't cite
chapter and verse, says clean all of the loose stuff out and re-grout.

2. Remove the old grout.
I just tried it for the first time, and...well, trust me.

There's a product to remove the old caulking I saw recommended on the caulking tube I was about to use. It was called--I kid you not--"Caulk-Be-Gone".

4. Thank you
and the others who responded.

I'll look for "Caulk-Be-Gone." It's one of those projects that you can't tell if it just looks easy, or really is. :)
