They flat out rock, just amazing. Saw them live in DC. They're like the Dead, Roy Orbison, The Outlaws, and Jeff Beck (on acid) all rolled up. Your list is great* but, like *, I can never admit I'm wrong

i see the dead as bluegrass-influenced jam rock and phish as jazz-influenced jam rock. they both cross over in some spots, but in general they remain in their own little sphere of influence. it's like saying that Bach is a Vivaldi imitator. similar styles, yes, same time period, yes, but drastically different from one another. anyway, i dont really care if you like phish or not, i just hate it when people call them dead imitators. peace :hi:
