What time is it?
Here in Merry England it is now twenty five past twelve.

On Sunday we switched from Greenwich Mean Time (how can time be stingy?) to British Summer Time (our day-light saving jobby); which is less than ideal when the Saturday night Easter vigil is followed by much champagne and one is serving an early Mass on Sunday.

Have America and Europe switched or are your clocks still in the middle of winter?

3. I thought you would have
I seem to remember that Europe was standardised a couple of years ago.

There are some folk who want us to move to the same time-zone as you.

6. why that?
you have Greenwich. It happens to be in GB. That is stupid. Then you could say you want to get rid of all time zones.

7. Makes no sense to me
But then France and Spain both keep the same time as Germany and they're further West than some of the U.K.

I think it was so that there's more overlap of working hours to do business with Europe - but that means less overlap with North America.

I just get up when the alarm rings - well usually at least half an hour later than that, and still grumbling about it.

8. it takes me about an hour till I finally get out of bed
after the alarm clock went off the first time (thank whoever for the snooze button). But that has nothing to do with the time change.

I don't think GB will get the same time frame as the rest of Europe. You guys are still on an ISLAND and I know you want to be somewhat different from the rest of Europe :D

4. That's got me shuddering
5:35 a.m. has existed fewer than 10 times in my life, and all from the previous evening.
