In a way, I do. Most of how I live is centered around Eastern philosophy. I don't practice as much as I used to though. It goes in cycles, but I always have it in the back of my mind.

6. I think the attitude of Buddhism is conducive to being a part |
|
of reality, I suppose.
Some people say I am a pessimist because I am a Buddhist, and believe that the knowledge that suffering exists is a key to being able to be a happy human being. I just think that it acknowledges certain facts of life without giving them "otherworldly" connotations.
For example, I don't believe everything happens for a reason. I think that some things just happen out of chance, and some because of causes. I don't believe everything happens because of some bigger destiny. Some call me a pessimist because of that. I think it is pessimistic to think that there was some "reason" for the holocaust, 9/11, etc.
That may be just me.

I did a 10 day meditaion course once. I've gone chanting at a few meetings with one of my friends...may all beings be peaceful and happy...may we be free of our ignorance and suffering...

I am no expert, but I like the moderation aspect of it and I try to apply that to my own life.
Buddhism aligns quite well with my personal religion, and is a part of it.
