Is it Possum or Opossum?
Regardless, this little guy was hanging out at our house this morning.

If they weren't known for being so mean (and if we didn't already have a house full of animals) I think I'd keep him.

2. Opossum in a textbook
'Possum when you are talking about them.
He's a cute little guy, but they can get in all sorts of inconvenient places and leave a mess. We used to have them in the crawlspace over the house in South Florida. Judging from the sawgrass in the picture, I'd guess this is a SF 'possum. ;)

3. One night a few weeks ago, I was out in the back yard
with my dog. All of a sudden, she lunged at something. I shone the flashlight to see what it was and she was nose to nose with a huge possum. Those animals frighten me because I have heard how nasty mean they can be. He can hang around as long as he doesn't bother me.

5. If you have plants or a vegetable garden they will eat them up.
They love tomatoes especially. Voice of experience here.

6. Does it matter? They are still ugly
My dog barks at them, too, and they don't back down.
