Welcome to middle age:
Lower back problems

Gray hair (I'm finding more and more)

Propensity to put on weight and finding it harder to keep it off

Definitely not as much energy as I used to have

When I was a kid, I couldn't even begin to imagine what it would be like to get to middle age. And now I know.

1. My new middle-age syndrome:
Really old guys flirting with me, really young guys calling me "ma'am".

Ack!

3. I always thought I was tough as nails.
Then at age 43 I had a monster motorcycle wreck and at age 51 I broke my back. Whoever said aging wasn't for sissies was SO right.

Woof

8. c'mon you whippersnappers!
am I supposed to feel better now?

(or would you like my supportive response, 'well, the 20s and early 30s are a transitional age...)

;)

11. I honestly didn't have a problem turning 30.
I CAN understand the apprehension. It is a milestone, so to speak, in your life. But it also can be a change for the better...an impetus for a better career, a time to settle down with someone special and build a family.

15. well that made sense
in my 30s I got married, went back to grad school, got my prof. license, bought a house and had a kid. I even started my own business. So the 30s are very cool that way. But when I turned 30 initially, it was with some trepidation. And I agree that the 40s are when you discover that you can still follow your bliss, so to speak, despite family and other commitments. :)

12. Me too!
When I turned 30 I felt that I was now a dreaded grown up.

When I turned 40 I realized I didn't have to grow up!

:woohoo:

14. I don't know - it just seems to describe me.
You look spry enough to me from the photos I've seen. Maybe that's cause you're sitting next to Hedges though. :)

(at least not that anyone can see) is gray hair. Miss Clariol takes care of that.

13. returning to 3 wheels
As a kid I rode a trike and then a bicycle which I put aside for a motorcycle by the time I was 18. :woohoo: Now my trike has a big motor and I don't have to keep it in the driveway.

Turning 50 :wtf:

Damn. I'm 53 and 'becoming vertical' in the morning, what I used to call 'gettin up', is verrrrrrrrrry interrrrrrrresting.

20. I'm 34.
Things hurt more easily and for longer. I have so much gray hair it's unbelievable but I get my hair colored every six weeks so I haven't seen it in a while.

The metabolism has slowed down and things have sort of....shifted.

My energy level does still seem to be good, though.

Didja ever hear that joke about the old lady who was in her 90s who had lost her husband? She was so distraught and lonely, she considered suicide. She asked her doctor where her heart was located and he said "Underneath your left breast."

She was admitted to the ER the next day with a gunshot wound to her knee.
