A rather screwed up scene at work |
|
There is a manager that likes to set me up to embarrass me or make me react. I've caught on to it, because I think the person wants me to act unprofessional. And this individual likes to do this in front of an audience. And now my lead is doing the same thing to me. This doesn't sound like businesslike behavior. What can I do?

Or, if you have a tipline, call it. That's a hostile work environment. Document, document, document!

I know it sucks when things like this take forever. But document everything! And if HR is still not doing anything, try using the phrase "creating a hostile working environment." That's a nuclear device, for HR it should start ringing bells.
I wouldn't start anything up with your supervisor or lead, just take it with a straight face, and keep doing your job. Don't give them any reason to try and fire you.

2. Continue to do what you are doing , and don't react to their stupidty . |
|
Do we work at the same place ? LOL - Its a shame that this person does this to you . I am taking a guess and I am guessing that you don't kiss up to this person , other people do , but you don't . You do your job - you don't talk to your manager unless you have to . And this manager does not understand why you are the way you are . You are the professional one . Continue to be that way = What goes around comes around ;) :)

I come to work and do my job. Unfortunately it's a good old boys and girls network there. Despite the environment, I refuse to compromise my integrity.

10. That's how it is in the old department that I worked in at my job ... |
|
If you are not buddy buddy with the boss , then you are out . Its so annoying . Tonight I had to work over there because they are behind in their work ( oooh I wonder why ) and I observed how much worser it has gotten since I left there . The bosses were buddy buddy with the workers , joking while they should be working . Flirting was going on - everything except work was happening . You can tell there was a lot kiss-a-- as well . If you don't participate in these farty festivities then you are the odd kid out . I thought work is about WORK and not being cool . Its almost like High School .

Basically people with no skill, and a lot of street smarts, suck dick, get in, and are promoted to get them out of any department that they land in, for damage control. They usually know someone half way up the chain. Do you remember what a snowball is? If not, rent the movie, Clerks. Snowballs are the big bosses, and your boss is good at giving them what they want-figuratively speaking, of course.

Ended up quitting and moving on. Best thing I ever did. This person however is still there. She'll retire when the undertaker comes to pick her up. An ass-kissing lifer.

A lead is a person who doesn't have a manager title but is responsible for managing tasks among a group of people.

Keep my cool (the easy part) Document document document...
We'll see what happens next...
