I can't find my little cat
Molly, the girl in my avatar. She's almost always here in the house, or on my neighbor's porch. But I haven't seen her all day. I'm worried. :scared:

1. Oh no!!
Is she an indoor/outdoor cat? I'd try some tuna, it used to work with my guy to coax him in.

yes
she goes outside, but as I said, never wanders. She hangs in my back yard, or goes next door where they love her and feed her (they have 10 cats of their own - yes 10)

3. is she spayed? if not, she may be looking for a, um, playmate..
...in any case in my family cats have taken off for two or three days at a time. Once it was five days. Then she returned without explanation. Kind of like that preacher woman, i forget her name, who disappeared in the '30s.

4. yes
she's neutered. I have two other cats. One disappears regularly, and I never worry about him because he always shows up. But it's highly unusual for Molly not to be in the house or immediately nearby.

9. Look in garages and up trees. She is probably very hungry. Take a can
of her food outside, open it walk around with it and keep calling her name over and over. I used to take a spoon and hit on the can and sooner or later I would hear a tiny "meow" and find them up a tree or locked in a neighbor's garage. Go do it right now!!!! She needs you!!!

11. our cats used to be indoor/outdoor.
A day or so away from home would happen about every 6 months. Sometimes they just want to get away.

They never usually go very far.

15. not yet...
I'm not panicked yet. She could be next door. She could be just hiding somewhere in the house. I'd just feel a lot better if I saw her.

16. Turn your porch light on
call her name---if she is lost she might find her way by your voice.

Open up a can of food to lure her with the sweet smells

My cat and I are pulling for you and your cat.

Good luck

I start to shake his dry food into his bowl. When he hears chow time
he comes running.

pussy. It's the most handsome one on DU if you ask me.

I hope she's back soon, Dook. I hate to think of your pussy wandering hither and thither.

22. My cats were strictly indoor, but
when she wanted to, my little gray girl could completely disappear. I would search the entire house, checking every place I knew she liked to nest in. I would call and call for her. No kitty. Eventually she would saunter into the room like, "What?" I hope Molly's pulling a fast one like that.

she has done that to me in the past. I looked EVERYWHERE, but then she just popped up. I'm hoping this will be one of those situations.

thanks for caring. I expect I'll see her in the morning. I've had cats for 22 years, and haven't lost one yet. They show up eventually.

27. Dookus--have you called your local humane society?
My cat, who is an orange tabby too, was missing for 20 hours last fall. Our phone was screwed up, but luckily we had a tag for him, and we had called the local humane society to report he was missing. When we were there, we learned someone had found him.

Don't give up hope! Best wishes for you and your kitty!

Can she be an indoor kitty now? Mine always want out, but I won't let them. Don't want to find a flat-cat.

Hey. Your cat has no alibi. Your cat killed the Pope and sald dressinged Pat Buchanan!

I told you it'd come back. They just sometimes like to spend a night out.
