KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Commentator and former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan cut short an appearance after an opponent of his conservative views doused him with salad dressing.

“Stop the bigotry!” the demonstrator shouted as he hurled the liquid Thursday night during the program at Western Michigan University. The incident came just two days after another noted conservative, William Kristol, was struck by a pie during an appearance at a college in Indiana.

5. Okay, I'm starting to get nervous.

Pies in tha face to W. Kristol, salad dressing, etc. No real harm done. But i'm getting nervous that this is going to escalate. I'm nervous that someone is going to attack a speaker, either Dem or Neocon, with something more deadly that they've brought in, like acid in a glass vial that slipped through metal detectors. People need to behave better in a democracy, IMO.

I actually applaud this behavior...the pies and the salad dressing and the heckling. Yes, it's juvenile. But at least there is a visible opposition which gets press attention. I detest the apathetic, let's just roll over and let them do whatever attitude. The "let's behave ourselves and be good little boys and girls" Miss Manners diatribe. Till what happens? We're in a religious state with no freedom? All of our tax money goes to faith-based initiatives which discriminate against women, minorities, and gays? Let these media whores (live by the sword, die by the sword) know that there's a pie out there headed their way. Look, protestors are being kept in corrals and marginalized by Bush's police state. Let a pie fly now and then. Remind America that we once had a Boston Tea Party rife with dissidents not afraid of public opinion.

Half the crap that comes from his mouth, I don't agree with. However, sometimes he comes up with a bit of rationality, and doesn't tow party lines with Bush.

I remember back in the 2000 election how he was saying there was no way he would have gotten so many votes in Palm Beach were it not for the ballotts used.

This is entertaining, but not as entertaining as if it would have happened to O'Lielly or Coulter.
