$8,000 30 Foot Inflatable Skunk Stolen

Lakemoor Community Association members say it stinks that someone stole their 30-foot inflatable skunk from its spot along Lincoln Road.

The $8,000 caricature, which stood in protest of the possible location of the village’s proposed sewage treatment plant, was snatched early Tuesday morning.

Don Allen, the group’s president, thinks the theft was politically motivated since the sewer plant has surfaced as a campaign issue in the testy village president’s race.

“I can’t say…but the finger points to two parties...one of which is probably responsible,” Allen said.

The skunk was inflated last Friday near land suspected to be the future location of a sewage treatment plant. It held the political message “No Sewer Plant Vote Virginia Povidas April 5.”
