Check here to see what other people are saying about you
Edited on Fri Apr-01-05 08:22 PM by Redstone
I'll get started, becuase there are some things I want to say about some of the people around here, and I WILL NOT be stifled::

Longgrain’s hair is long, but the length of his actual grain? Nobody knows--or if they do, they’re not telling.

If Ellenforalladom (is that spelled right? Probably not, but you know who I'm talking about) can’t afford to make the trip to Boston, we should take up a collection so she can. It’d be worth any price to see the screamingly funny pulp-book covers she would make afterward.

Progmom and her crew are fixing to make the Boston shindig verrrry interesting, if early indicators are accurate. Everyone have cameras on high alert--extra credit for video.

Sniffa reaLLy needs to stop diLLY-daLLying, and repLace that stuck L key (unLess it’s actuaLLY a maLfuctioning caps-Lock key that’s at fauLt) on his keyboard as quickLy as he can get to StapLes to buy a repLacement.

Way, WAY too many people around here (Admins included, shamefully enough) are supporting those shifty, disloyal Swedes (didn’t see any of THEM in the Coalition Of The Willing, did you?) by consuming vast quantities of their fish. You all know who you are.

You’re all just pawns, people, allowing yourselves to be used by the sneaky Swedes in their bid to achieve world domination in the vital market for gelatinous, sweet, piscine-shaped snackage. America has, after all, historically pitched in to rescue Sweden in its times of need by inordinate consumption of Absolut and tiny meatballs, and this is how they repay us?

You’d be well advised to switch to Freedom Fish immediately, or I’m going to have to call the authorities and have your names put on The List. I don’t want to have to do that, but it would be my patriotic duty.

I yield to the other honorable members.

Redstone

1. Thanks Redstone for the Laugh...
I've been posting around GD most of the afternoon, I didn't realize there was speculation about how long my grain was...:7

17. But now that I've broached the subject,
you know you'll be getting multiple inquiries about that in Boston.

My advice is to start working on a snappy reply real soon, because you're going to need it. Over and over.

I'd believe the Swedes.

Besides which, remember the Absolut I mentioned? There's going to be enough of that in Boston to guarantee that you'll provide the kind of entertainment we're expecting from you (and your pals).

We will not be denied, no matter how many bartenders we have to bribe to give your drinks, um, a little more authority.

9. Look in ATA.
You'll see how those dastardly, underhanded Swedes have gotten their hook (pun intended) into a whole crowd of unsuspecting DUers with their accursed fish.

Why, these "candy" fish have even become a kind of currency used to garner favors from those in power, kind of like cigs in a jailhouse. Candy, my eye. What's REALLY in those things?

And not only do the powers-that-be not quell this black-market trade, they actually encourage and participate in it! Ten bucks says they tell these poor souls "The first fish is ALWAYS free. Go on, just try it, kid. What could it hurt? It's just a fish."

They don't know I'm on to them yet, but I bet there'll be BIG trouble for me when they find out.

You must resist. Save yourself from the Menace Of The Fish while you still can!

6. Thought you were pulling a fast one on us with IKEA,
didn't you?

Good furniture at cheap prices? Ha! You think THAT's going to fool us?

Even though there are two Volvos in my driveway, I, uh, the Swedes, ahhhh, I see them for what they are...never mind the two Volvos, forget I mentioned them...I'd never get taken in by those Swedes...WHAT Volvos? I have no idea what you're talking about!!!

That's what this thread is supposed to be for, not just me raving about the Swedes.

Though we really do have to look out for them.

16. Well, say something nice about someone, then, and
Skinner won't ding you. As long as there are no sexual or body-part references (which I'd just as soon do without anyway, so I'm happy they have that rule).

But don't mention the fish. I think the Swedes have gotten, ahem, certain people around here addicted, so they'd probably be defensive about that.

The only thing I have to say about DUers tonight is that Briarius is still a geek, re: the 'you might be a geek' thread... luckily, I think that project is about done and functional. :D

Edited on Fri Apr-01-05 09:02 PM by Redstone
since that's what this thread was supposed to be for in the first place before the Swedes hijacked it:

Kitchenwitch does good work. Great work, actually. Saving even ONE person from the Dark Side is to be admired.

Keep an eye on Lone Pawn and don't allow any further slippage, would you? And keep him away from the Swedes. No telling how they might manipulate him.

you never know if the Swedes have figured out how to make bear-shaped fish.

They are pretty clever, after all.
