3. Actually..
...my mom was the chef. The recipie and method of preparing it has been passed down in my family for generations, and they've really got it down pat. Real thin flank steak.. beat until it's nice and tender, then rolled up like a jelly roll only with bacon, onion and pickle, (and spices) and then served with a thick brown gravy. It takes along time to make, my mom has showed me sort of how to do it, but I am not sure if I'd be ready to atempt it.

We had it with mashed potatoes, but in my family it's also traditionally served with a dish called spetzlè. (pronounced (SPETS-eh-leh" What that is is hard to explain, but it's a certain type of noodle, noodles that you eat with the brown gravy. You start by making this special dough (I have no idea how that is done).. then you get yourself a big ass pot of poiling water up to a nice rolling boil, and you put this big ball of dough on a cuttng board in a big lump.. then you hold it over the boiling water, and take a knife and shave off slivers of it into the boiling water, and they are cooked instatly, and so all the pieces stay seperate.

That goes great with rouladen.. or some mashed potatoes.. and some red cabage! That is always a big part of a traditional German meal amongst the Heyo clan, too. Mmmmmmm! (Red cabbage you can buy in the store and just heat up, it is an aquired taste, I love the stuff)

And Schwartzwalder kirsch torte (Black Forrest cherrie pie) for desert. MMMMmmmmmmmm.

:dunce:
