Neil Young and Jerry Garcia |

No, it's not a poll
But given that I was just sending my well wishes on another thread--and that I listened to David Crosby's "What Are Their Names?" last night from If Only I Could Remember My Name--thought I'd run this by the music trivia buffs.
Is "What Are Their Names" the only recorded instance of Garcia and Young playing together? If not, where else can I find some. Are there and famous bootlegs where they were on the same stage floating around.
Anyhow, call me a 47-year-old cliche whith a Gratefult Dead moniker and a Neil Young sig line, but they are two of my enduring faves and I've been curious about this for a long time now.
Thanks in advance,
DS

2. I don't know the answer to your question but . . . |
|
That album by Crosby is one of the greatest.
I love "I'd Swear There Was Somebody Here" and "Cowboy Movie."

True story. It was the earlist days of CDs. "If Only..." was in the first batch of 5 or 6 I bought. Me and this gray haired hippie woman some 15 yrs my senior come to the checkout line and she has one disc: "If Only..."
We talked about our love of the album and her eyes get watery...and pretty soon mine as well.
That album, for those who adore it, goes beyond most rock and roll adoration in my opinion. Not to sound corny, but there is something magical captured in there, as if some great sense of spirit really emerged during the recording and gets translated through its audio reproduction.
Thanks for the reply. Take care. Anyone who digs the vibe of that album is certainly a friend of mine.
