"If you wear green on Thursday, it means you're horny"
I heard this all through elementary school. (No idea what it meant, of course.)

But has anyone ever heard this before, or did my small hometown have some weird folklore of its very own?

5. Well, green is traditionally a fertility color. Is thursday good that
way too? (Thor doesn't strike me as a fertility guy)

15. well, you know
he goes out...pillages with the guys...

gets "hammered" (hahaha) and then starts talking to his soldiers about how noone understands him but them...

things go on from there.

and, i won't make the inevitable comment about the headgear:

Funny now, though, to think of this past St. Patrick's Day...it was a Thursday.

21. Once upon a time
back when I was in grade school, wearing green on Thursday meant you were gay. (Although that wasn't the terminology we used back then.)

23. Fashions change
My school days were 40 years ago. I think that fashion statement may be a little out of date by now-- certainly the kneejerk homophobia that motivated it is, at least in my neighborhood. Anyway, nowadays I think you're supposed to wear rainbows :-)

You're the only other poster who talks about Messiaen. Are you in my demographic? (I'm 52.)

24. Rainbows certainly wouldn't work with me
My wardrobe is dominated by blue.

Not quite your demographic (25, pretending to be a few years younger).

I discovered Messiaen from a friend at university, and now have a missionary zeal about promoting him.
