3. Yes-drives me bonkers especially if: |
|
-people use "Cc" instead of "Bcc" and I can see the 8000 other people they forwarded it to.
-it's one of those political emails that can easily be debunked by using snopes.com
Yes, those emails are annoying as all hell.

|
Are they like the last person on the net to learn that you're not supposed to do it?
Of course, being passive-aggressive I never actually DO anything about it.

I have actually changed email addresses to avoid them. First, most of the time you have to scan through the headers of every recipient before you even get to the inane text. This opens up your email address to the world-hello Spam! Then it's mostly hoaxes and other crap. It's bad netiquette. 'nough said.

I spent twenty minutes cleaning out an Inbox of these things. Why do my friends think that I want to read these? I refuse to forward them to all of my friends as requested because I want these people to REMAIN my friends!

11. Ok my daughter has an email address |
|
that only we and her grandparents and one friend of hers knows. She got a forwarded email from her grandmother that had been sent to over 100 other people and it was one of those that TELLS you that you better forward it or bad things will happen to you, so she was going to (although her to: list isn't too big, LOL!) and I told her people hate those things. She didn't believe me, so I said "Want me to ask the lounge?" and she readily agreed. (The lounge as Oracle in my house, how hilarious.)
So she deleted it.
Poor thing. Her grandmother CAN'T send me those silly things anymore because I blocked her email address.

15. Yep. Grandma would feel right at home in freeperland. |
|
And despite my very nice, respectful, but firm REPEATED requests to stop sending me stuff about why Jane Fonda should be shot, how deoderant causes breast cancer, and why I should pray that God bless Chimpy McCokeSpoon, she still sent them. CONSTANTLY. She's passive-aggressive when it comes to me.
So finally I blocked her email address. It was the "why Jane Fonda should be shot" email that was the last straw for me. It's not like I didn't ask her many times to stop.
So now she heaps the nasty repukey stuff on my husband (her son) who just deletes them without opening them and sends the fluffy semi-spiritual, good luck, Jesus stuff to our daughter.

Or my freakin wish won't come true?
Mom/Aunt/Grandma think it's necessary to send me them, so I get them three-fold.
One of the Dem. County Chairs thinks it's his job to pass them on too (like that's Dem. business? :eyes:)

16. I lost a long time friend when she finally got email. |
|
I always liked her, pre-email. We had our babies together, our husbands liked each other, we visited each other often (different cities).
Then she and her husband FINALLY got a computer (they were about eight to ten years behind on that). And she started sending me emails with titles like "the genuis of rush limbaugh."
Uh, yeah, no. I politely told her I REALLY strongly dislike limbaugh and didn't want to get emails about him. Then she started sending me all the urban legend stuff (it was ALL new to her, as she had never had email). I sent her snopes links to debunk them, and she got totally pissed off, said she wouldn't email me anymore.
I said "hey, email IS for more than forwarding stuff. We CAN talk in emails!" I figured it would cut down on our long-distance bills.
Never heard from her again. Oh well. I had no idea she was such a repuke.

I have one good friend who sends me a forwarded email once in a BLUE MOON. I mean VERY rarely and she's such a good friend, I overlook it.
But everyone else who sends me that shit can go to email hell.

Or-
You will get 300 dollars from microsoft if you forward this to a trillion people.
Or-

21. Yes, especially when they're from my mother. |
|
I feel duty-bound to read them because they're from her.
They're usually dire warnings about scams, chain prayers, and saccharine "pass the love" chains.
I get them from a number of other people I'm related to, as well. I delete them, unless they're full of bunk I can disprove, in which case I "reply all" with a Snopes link.

Dear Idiot,
That little girl is not missing and never was. It is a stupid email hoax sent to stupid people so they will forward it and get people like me mad at you... I mean them.
Don't send me crap like this.
Let me clarify what I mean by "crap like this".
Microsoft is not going to give me money or a gift certificate for forwarding an email. Neither is AOL, McDonalds, Gap, Apple, Sony, or any other company. Oh, and before you ask, they won't donate money to a sick kid who really likes email forwarding either.
John Kerry did not say those things and neither did Bill Clinton or Ted Kennedy. The person you are thinking of is DAN QUAYLE. I bet he forwards a lot of emails too.
AOL, MSN, and Yahoo! are not about to start charging you $15.00 for instant messenger services.
Nobody is going to knock you unconscious by a spray of perfume in the department store parking lot in order to rob you, and you're not going to get cockroach eggs in your lips by licking envelopes.
Congressmen DO pay into Social Security, and no, Robin Williams is not responsible for that long and rambling xenophobic piece of bullshit that people often attribute to him.
Nobody is putting AIDS-filled needles on gas pumps.
That guy did not get a rufie in his drink, he did not wake up in a tub full of ice, and his kidneys were not missing.
That's what I mean by "crap like this". Stop sending it to me.
I have sent this email twice, and it got the message across nicely.
