For those who are Catholic and those who believe in prayer
please pray for the Cardinals who will vote/select a new Pope. I pray they are not swayed
by outside $$$'s or any other persuasion but follow the needs of those who follow them.

1. Amen.
May they open their hearts to God's needs, and to His choice for Christ's Vicar, not man's.

4. Even if you're not Catholic, pray for us.
God listens to everyone's prayers, not just ours, and this time is no different.

:)

5. Will pray for you and all at DU
I did it for years, always prayed for those who I have ever had contact with and all those I who I will ever have contact with. I'm sure my grammar is not correct but the Lord knows what I am trying to say.

God Be With You.

6. i'm scared
i definitely consider myself to be one of the faithful. i attend mass regularly observe holy days and such. i was raised catholic, in a humble franciscan church, and i probably wouldn't still be catholic if i grew up in any other church. i left the church when i hit adolescence and learned about unsavory aspects of church dogma and it's history. however, i came back about ten years later when i had a profound spiritual experience.

there's a lot a don't agree with when it comes to the rc church, but i get too much out of it to let it go. while i didn't agree with pjp ii on everything, he was the only pope i knew and loved.

i'm scared of another (and potentially more) conservative pope. not just for what it would mean for the world, but for my own selfish reasons. i'm scared that it would be end of faith and commitment to the catholic church.

i'll be praying all right.

7. Bush and his corporate cronies already bought them all off. By now
I think prayer is useless.

Whoever the next pope is, he'll be a rabid right-wing dogmatist.

As a result of what's happened to the Vatican and certain American bishops in the past year I now think of myself as a "renegade Catholic" looking for some less offensive demonination, such as the Episcopals.
