RW California defense industry Senator plots with RW US Pentagon chiefs to stage a coup, released shortly after JFK's assassination. You know that's Hollywood though because in the movie democracy survived intact, unlike today.

3. The Candidate with Robert Redford |
|
is a good political movie. Gritty and real. Also, A Face in the Crowd. Both movies are intelligent and unpredictable. We could use more of that combination.
