9. Hi, Seabiscuit. I tried to PM you a while back but realized -- |
|
-- to my disappointment you don't have that icon available, so I couldn't.
I wanted to offer a compliment on some postings you did. I can't be more specific without naming others who are not here, but just wanted you to know I appreciated what you had to say and how you said it.

10. Thanks, Old Crusoe. Maybe I can somehow reconfigure my account |
|
here to include PM ability.
You shouldn't have too much trouble finding recent posts from me. I'm here almost every day for an hour or more.

16. I'm not always here, so that might be most of the -- |
|
-- problem.
But in this thread alone there are people whose posts I read, no matter what the topic.
(--And that includes you, Floog.--)
Keep me posted & happy trails!

19. Hint: did it have anything to do with the Robert Blake verdict? |
|
If so, I was in a bit of a crabby mood, and gave a rather nice person a bit of a hard time. She seemed to deserve it that night, but on reflection, I was a bit harsh to an otherwise nice lady. At least I've enjoyed her later posts. Perhaps the two of us were just having bad night. I do recall coming to your defense in that thread.

Nissom Dis Soule.

This is a tune that got lodged in your head from the radio or someplace you can't trace, or do you mean you came up with the melody yourself?
Either way, I STILL like it.

20. Can anyone try to translate this into English? |
|
Sorry, it's a little screwed up, but it's Kevin Kline singing a Charles Trenet song called "La Mer". for extra points, can you identify the American version and the person who sang it?

The sea which one sees dancing along the clear gulfs to sparkles of silver. The sea Of changing sparkles Under the rain.
The sea Confuses the summer sky's sheep With angels so pure. The sea Shepherdess of blue infinity.
Look! Next to the ponds Those tall wet reeds. Look! Those white birds And those rusty houses
The Sea Has rocked them Along the clear gulfs. The Sea Has rocked my heart for life.

1. Clue: it's a song; what's the song's title?
2. Who wrote it?
3. Who changed the lyrics into English and made it into an American hit song?
4. What was the name of that song?
5. What movie contained the original French lyrics?
6. Who sang the French version in that movie?

23. As far as I know, the title is "La Mer"... |
|
don't know who wrote it, but the English version was "Beyond The Sea" by Bobby Darin.
Edit: Okay, it was written by Charles Trenet and sung by Kevin Kline (that was in your original post) :)
