What does Meth smell like cooking

My Hubby came home again today a noon time and smelled chemicals out side. He also said it smelled like something dead, with a mixture of ammonia and the other day it was break cleaner. The house it seemed to be coming from has EVERY WINDOW open!!! I called the State police and told them and I think they are going to look into. We don't what our house blown up. We are pretty ignorant when it comes to this stuff. Can you tell me.

but if what you are smelling strikes you as combustible fumes, you might be on to something. Regardless, even if they're just tanning hides or whatever, if you can smell that crap from your place, it can't be good. Word to the wise: Don't smoke near that house...and if you see someone smoking near it, duck.

Not only could the place blow up, but the anhydrous they use is DEADLY. It will burn you from the inside if you inhale it.

Call the cops when you smell it in the air. Take note of the cars that come in and out of the property (license #, make and model). If you live in town and they have to put out the trash call the cops on trash day. They can go through the persons trash and see if they have any pre-cursors. Pre-cursors and a documented history of suspicious smells is usually enough to get a search warrant.

it is used for wet reaction meth. You have to make your own Red P from matchbook strikers, H2O, acetone, muriatic acid, H2O2.

The Lava lamp just cooks it. A 25 watt bulb is best with aluminum foil wrapped around the base of the lamps bottle. The lamp bottle needs to be a screw off or pry off lid.

You see, I learned about county adoptions, and my hubby and I put myself on another county's list. A few months later, my beautiful girl was placed in my arms (she was 2). So, life works out great - that's the moral of the story (I retired 1-1/2 years later to go back to law school).

Iodine crystals are no sweat. One makes them by heating, slowly, iodine in HCl for a couple of weeks. Ephedrine is a simple matter to steal, or even purchase legally.

Iodine crystals are used to treat cracked hooves (not ephedrine), and most livestock dealers report any buyers or jsut refuse to sell -- the same as scuba equipment dealers who refuse to sell underwater flares (a common source of Red Phosphorous) to anything they thingk isn't an underwater welder.

Oh, and kids? Don't so drugs. They WILL ruin your life.

About 15 years ago I used to live in a little unincorporated area between Eugene and Springfield, Oregon called Glenwood. One evening I was out taking a walk and the air was heavy with the smell.

I mentioned it to a friend the next day and they told me that Glenwood had been the meth production capital of Oregon.

The wide open windows along with the all the other stuff is pretty clear.

I walked through a house (as a social worker with the detective) that had literally been incinerated by a meth lab explosion/fire.

The house next door did get slightly damaged (fire -something touching it?) - not sure about the exact sequence of events; I do agree, however, that chances are that another house would not explode or anything.

I do agree though that it is imperative that this gets taken care of - and I'd call the police until they did take a look at the situation.

Everything else is available both commercially and pure. Ever since the latest regs went into effect, however (in 2002, I believe), red phosphorous has been in demand. One can still get it from matchbooks, fireworks, over the border (dogs aren't trained to sniff it), reuse it, and a few other sources, but it's neither as easy or as good a quality.

You wouldn't go to jail, btw. You'd primarily have violated federal laws, and with mandatory sentencing spent a few years in Leavenworth (or whereever the hell they send federal criminals these days -- usually state pens).

We experienced a terrible tragedy out here in SoCal. The community was so proud ... a 45-year-old mom went back to police school, became a cop. On the first day of duty, her and her partner were driving up. A guy high on meth shot them dead in their police car with an automatic weapon . Such a tragedy. That's been a few years back.

I took a child into protective custody once. The guy that was high on meth (the dad) told me that he was paranoid, and was planning to jump out of the third story window with his kid (lucky I took the kid into custody).

The kid's mom later cleaned up and flew right. "Dad" went downhill from there.

The smell of Ammonia and ether is a dead giveaway. The labs are extremely combustible and could severly injure or kill you or your family. Get family, pets and precious valuables into a hotel.

Cooking meth also creates highly toxic fumes.
Get away and call the police immediately. It is very, very dangerous to be anywhere near a meth lab. And I am sure the speed freaks in charge are not the kind of people you want around your family either.

This is definetly a meth lab. There is no other reason for suffocating clouds of ammonia and ether to be coming out of a house in a residential neighborhood.
I could care less about drug users, but cooking meth can cause your whole block to go up in flames.

she is a plucker when this are out of whack. She gets upset at a change in routine and starts to pluck. Well about a month ago she started to pluck and there had been no change in her routine, I wonder if she was getting a whiff of the stuff. Before she moved in, the rentmate who had 7 birds evacuated them almost immediately to my back room when she first smelled the beginnings of a meth lab in the apartment next to her - but it was too late for the smallest and oldest birds. The 'keet died within a week. The 90+ year old cockatoo had a stroke a month or so after the move (he survived another 7 years, but he developed a lot of problems due to the mild right side paralysis and constant falling off of perches.)
The conure was constantly sick afterwards for three years before she died.

If you can't board him elsewhere for a while, shift your bird's habitat to the opposite side of the house and keep the fan going. If you've got a good bird vet, you should take him in for a checkup, just to make sure there's been no damage.
