a rant.... :sigh:
I've always been cold, in the winter I layer up and wrap myself up. At work I have a heater running in the summer to counter act the AC.
It's not unusual for me to throw on a sweat shirt on summer evenings.

Soooooooooo - what the hell is everyone's problem with that?

It runs in the family - my grandmother was always cold, my mother is cold, my sister is cold....

we are getting ready to go run errands today -- it's between 40-50 degrees out - so I throw on a turtle neck and a sweatshirt -- my partner says "why are you wearing all those clothes -- it's warm out, aren't you going to be hot?"

no - and in the remote possibility that I do get hot I can take off the sweatshirt and roll up my sleeves....

the other thing that gets to me is when people tell me to take off my sweater because it MAKES THEM HOT. -- ok so if I take off the sweater and you wear it will it make me warm?

1. Maybe the old adage applies here: Cold Hands, Warm Heart.
:)

2. I get cold too, except in the extremes of 90s-100s in the summer.
50 degrees out? Yeah, I'd be wearing a turtleneck sweater and a leather jacket. Jeans. Socks and shoes.

I do have to have it chilly when I work out, though. I like the room to be 60-63 degrees when I work out.

4. ah yes
I am in the "Walking Hot Flash" period of my life...I sweat all the time...no matter how cold it is out.

I would rather be cold because you can always put more clothes on to warm up.

5. at work the other day .. .
I told them the cooling system, or lack thereof, was discriminatory toward peri-menopausal women.

I've been taking evening primrose oil which does help.

8. no "hot flashes" (....yet....)
Edited on Mon Apr-11-05 05:30 AM by radfringe
but I do get the night sweats -- right before I drop off to sleep

and the blankets get kicked off, then I get cold, blankets back on and sweat some more -- after about an hour it stops, although there have been nights where I've gotten up in the wee hours of the morning to change my t-shirt because it's soaked with sweat

we don't call it menopause or peri-pausal -- we refer to it as reverse puberty.... lol
