I love "The Nanny"
You know, that sitcom with nasal-voiced Fran Drescher as a Nanny to a rich family? It's not on anymore but I discovered reruns. When it was broadcast I would NEVER have considered watching. I'd never seen an episode but I knew I would hate it, like "Facts of Life" or "Diff'rent Strokes," or something equally inane and horrible.

But I started coming home early from work, and I'm very tired, and there wasn't anything on TV to watch while I wound down except for that so I watched an episode. Then another, and another. And now I'm totally hooked. I LOVE that show, I love the characters, I love Fran Drescher, and C.C. Babcock, and Niles ... even the kids aren't as annoying as they usually are on sitcoms. Sometimes it's mildly bawdy, sonetimes it's REALLY stupid, but I just laugh and laugh.

I think I'm getting old or something.

1. not getting old, I adored the program too-- and love the
fact that it has been re-running on lifetime. even though there is this constant emphasis on getting married, the show is still fun
Niles is actually my favourite character

2. I love C.C.
And I think I mean I LOVE her. She lights up every scene she's in. Of course the sexual undercurrents between her and Niles were the best part of the show. Niles is my second favorite character.

3. I like that show too.
I watch it at the same time, right after work. It's just good harmless fun, always good for at least a smile.

6. Am I Weird?
I've always found Drescher's voice (at least as she played it up for the Nanny) arousing. This from a life-time southern boy.

8. I love the one when Shari Lewis and her sock puppet appeared
Groovy little Lamp Chop...

And Daniel Davis was brilliant casting, though Joseph Marcell was funnier on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air".

I recall the year CC was pregnant. They tried all the imaginative camera angles, but she still looked bloated - everywhere!
